Laurie's Story
Laurie’s Homemade Candies begins with a sweet lady named Laurie Walker. Laurie has always loved working in the kitchen and coming up with new creations. Inspired by her family, she pursued her passion and studied at the Philadelphia School of Candy Making with an esteemed Chocolatier. In 1978, she opened her original location in Midland Park, New Jersey. After 2 years, she moved her business to her current location of Wayne, NJ, next to her husband’s business, Glenn Pond Nursery. When you walk into the store, the aroma of chocolate captures your senses and instantly lifts your spirits. There is so much to look at, you don’t know where to start…A showcase full of over 100 homemade chocolate candies….a wall of over 50 flavors of Jelly Belly jelly beans and 20 flavors of jelly fruit slices….gummies in too many shapes to list…..molded chocolate shapes for all occasions….and so much more!
With over 40 years in business, Laurie loves everyday she is working with chocolate and considers each day a brand new adventure. There is always a fresh idea to try and an upcoming season and holiday to highlight. Customers have made Laurie’s specialties family traditions and she is now serving 3 generations of families that have enjoyed her treats!
